Notes: The genus Bryocopsis may be recognized by the pad-like tarsal claws; those of leg I relatively short and each bears 2 tenent hairs whereas those of legs II-IV are relatively long and each bears 2 rows of ventrally directed tenent hairs; empodium I is a short pad, about as long as the tarsal claws, bearing about 3-4 pairs of tenent hairs; empodia II-IV are also as long as the tarsal claws and bear 2 rows of ventrally directed tenent hairs. The dorsal aspect of the female is similar to that of Bryobia. Four strongly developed setiferous lobes project from the anterior end of the prodorsum and the latter bears 4pairs of setae; opisthosoma with 12 pairs of dorsal setae which are spatulate; peritreme anastomoses distally; fourth pair of dorsocentral setae (f1) situated marginally; coxal setal formula 2-1-1-1 Meyer (1987).
The genus Bryocopsis comprises 2 species.
