Abstract
The authors deal with 7 species of tetranychoid mites found infesting a wide variety of economic plants in Assam, India, in 1981. Three of the species are described as new, these are Brevipalpus assamensis sp. n., B. gauhatiensis sp. n., B. tinsukiaensis sp. n. One genus and 2 species are recorded from India for the first time, one of the species was Tetranychus puschelii Meyer. The remaining 2 species were B. phoenicis (Geijskes) and Eutetranychus orientalis (Klein)
