Abstract
The tetranychid Panonychus ulmi was recorded damaging citrus trees in numerous orchards on the Sorrento Peninsula of Italy in 1990. Its morphology is compared with that of Tetranychus urticae,, notes are given on its biology, food plants and injuriousness. The use of acaricides within a supervised control programme is described.
