Abstract
The occurrence, seasonal incidence, injuriousness, host-plant preferences, distributions of 7 species of tetranychid mites in the Canary Islands are given, together with data on 4 species of predatory phytoseiids associated with them. Among the mites, Tetranychus ludeni, T. macfarlanei and T. neocaledonicus are recorded for the 1st time from the Islands, and Iphiseius degenerans [Amblyseius degenerans] is reported preying on T. cinnabarinus and Panonychus citri. Keys to the relevant genera of Tetranychidae and Phytoseiidae are provided
