Abstract

Phaulodinychus mitis (Leonardi) is redescribed from adults and deutonymphs collected at Lido di Venezia from intertidal habitats. Observations on behavior and peritremal morphology suggest the presence of a plastron mechanism which permits respiration of P. mitis during periods of submersion due to tidal flooding.
