Abstract

Examination of intertidal sand substrates from a stream bank near Siletz Bay, Oregon, resulted in the recovery of five species of marine mites (Halacaridae) representing four genera. Four new species are described (Rhombognathus leurodactylus, R. reticulatus, Thalassarachna psammophila, and Agauopsis jurcata). Descriptions of the immature stages of Actacarus illustrans Newell are included.
