Abstract

Samples of flesh from five different species of fish with different levels of moisture content were exposed to infestation from a stock culture of S. medanensis for a specific time under laboratory conditions. Correlations worked out between the counts of the mite on the samples and the levels of moisture that were present within the flesh showed that there is no statistically significant correlation between the level of moisture content and the number of adult S. medanensis that might infest a quantity of fish.
