The respiratory system of watermites consists of a closed system of tracheales which are linked at a point lateral to the brain. The regions of anastomosis on either side of the brain form web-like structures from which tracheales radiate to other regions of the body. Progressive anastomosis forming larger trachea occur in Eylais, sp. Regions of anastomosis are found in mites of the genus Pratzia, Hydradroma, Sperchan, Hygrobates, Piana and Arrenurus. Comparisons with other stigmate acarines were not made.
