Abstract
In French Amblyomma loculosum, sous-genre Adenopleura: premiere decouverte a Madagascar. - Unfed males, females and nymphs of Amblyomma loculosum were found on Nosy Fonga isle. This is the first record of this species from Madagascar. Numerous tick infested nests of marine birds were present on the isle located on the east coast, 17 kms south of Tamatave; ticks were collected from the nests and from collectors. Preliminary virological investigations seem to indicate the presence of virus in sorne ticks.
