Abstract

Stalked spermatophores of Trombidium holosericeum are 350-550 /Lm in height. In its lower part the stalk forms a base, whereas the upper, distended part together with the supported sperm drop forms the head of the spermatophore. The sperm drop is devoid of any envelope. Basis and middle part of stalk are built of protein-rich material, whereas its upper part possesses a flocculent structure and shows the presence of proteins, polysaccharides and lipids.
