Abstract

A new method for preparing ticks for scanning electron microscopy has been developed, involving the use of an ultrasonic cleaner. This technique can be used for the preparation of specimens with great amount of detritus on their body (some parasites of bats, as Antricola and Parantricola) or with some fragile setae, that are easily broken with the standard procedures.
