Abstract

This paper is the 5th part of a study on the oribatid mites of Sao Paulo State, and the 8th chapter of a series on the soil oribatid (Acari) fauna from Brazil that we are carrying out. We have found 24 species, and among them seven are new to Science: Austrozetes maximus n. sp., Furcoppia americana n. sp., Galumna perezi n. sp., Galumna araujoi n. sp., Pergalumna melloi n. sp., Allogalumna alpha n. sp. and Xylobates iracemae n. sp. A new genus: Pseudogalumna n. g., is described (type species: Oribates clericatus Berlese, 1915).
