Abstract

Haemaphysalis aculeata Lavarra, 1904 is the prevalent species of ticks in the Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD) area in Karnataka, state of India. The present paper gives a detailed re-description of this species and updates the list of the recorded hosts.
