Notes: Notonychus can be diagnozed on the following characters: idiosoma Oattened, relatively narrow and provided with prodorsal and opisthosomal shields; area between shields with coarse transverse striae; 4 pairs of setae on prodorsum; first pair (v1) being situated on an anteromedian projection a nd second pair (v2) on small outer projections; opisthosoma bears 9 pairs of dorsal setae; fourth pair of dorsocentral setae (f1) more widely spaced than first 3 pairs (c1, d1 and e1) and located nearly marginally; dorsal body setae short, broadly spatulate and serrate; opisthosomal setae set on small tubercles; peritreme anastomoses distally; true claws pad-like and each has a pair of tenent hairs; empodia pad-like and each bears 2 rows of ventrally directed hairs Meyer (1987).
