Abstract
It was shown that the distribution of the predatory miteTyphlodromus pyri scheuten and the phytophagous miteMetatetranychus ulmi Koch on the leaves of apple trees is very similar. However, a correlation between the two components could not be established.
Observations at three different times during the summer showed that the predatory mites have no preference for certain leaves. However, the fruit tree spider mite shows a clear preference for the basal leaves in spring.
