Abstract
Field experiments were conducted in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, during 2000-01 to determine the efficacy of some new acaricides (pyridaben, tebufenpyrad, fenpyroximate) against Tetranychus viennensis [Amphitetranychus viennensis] infesting apples compared to commonly used acaricides in practice. Pyridaben, tebufenpyrad and fenpyroximate showed high efficacy to all the developmental stages of T. viennensis. The new acaricides showed quicker initial effect and longer persistence than amitraz, benzoximate, hexythiazox + amitraz, hexythiazox + benzoximate and hexythiazox + propargite, and preserved apples for more than 20 days.
