Abstract
A detailed comparison is presented of studies in Switzerland in 1995-2002 in which biological control of plant pests, diseases of apples was compared with integrated control. Many fungicides were tested against Botrytis cinerea, Nectria galligena and Gloeosporium spp. Target pests for integrated or biological control measures included Panonychus ulmi, Dysaphis plantaginea, Aphis pomi, Operophtera brumata, Hoplocampa testudinea and Cydia pomonella. The relative efficacy of biological and integrated control measures varied from year to year.
