A new Schizotetranychus from the Brazilian fauna (Acarina : Tetranychidae). Proceedings of the 1st Latino-American Congress of Entomology, Cuzco, Peru: 172-173.

Abstract
A new species of tetranychid mite, Schizotetranychus taquarae n. sp., is described. The species was found feeding on bamboo (Bambusa vulgaris) in Atibaia, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil. It can be easily separated from the majority of species of the genus, including that previously known to occur on bamboo, by the presence of only six tactile setae plus a sensory seta on tibia I, for both sexes.
