Abstract
The description is given of a new genus and species of the tetranychid mite - Tauriobia insueta Liv. et Mitr., gen. nov., sp. nov. found in Crimea on Cistus tauricus Presl. The mite being characterized by an enriched chaetom. It should be also menĀtioned that the number of coxal setae (11+9+9+9) is not observed in other known species of tetranychids mites. In Tetranychidae this number is equal to 2+2+1+1 setae in Bryobiidae to 1+1+1+1, 2+1+1+1 or 3+3+1+1. By the structure of appenĀdages of tarsus I-IV, number and position of dorsal setae the genus under description is close to the genus Petrobia Murray, 1887 (Reck, 19.59) and Aplonobia Womersley, 1940 (Pritchard and Baker, 1955).
