Revision de los acaros fitofagos en el Peru y descripcion de un nuevo genero de Tetranychidae (Acari). Revista Peruana de Entomologia, 20: 67-71.

Abstract
The species of plant feeding mites so far known from Peru are reviewed (Table I). A new genus in the family Tetranychidae, tribe Eurytetranychini, is described. The type genus Paraponychus incanus Gonzalez & Flechtmann, collected on sweet potato, lpomoea batatas, is related to Aponychus Rimando, 1966. Both genera share the following characters, viz., one pair of associated setae on tarsus I; emmpodium lacking; and a single pair of anal setae in the female. Paraponychus differs in the number of dorsal setae (12 pairs instead of 13), in the number of paraanal setae (see fig. 9) and in the absence of distal projections in the stylophore (figs. 2, 3). The setal nomenclature is discussed in relation to the position of setae L1 which is laterally displaced occupying rather a humeral position. The dorso central setae D4 is also marginal in position. The number of setae on leg segments I-IV is as follows: coxae 2-2-1-1, trochantera 1-1-1-1 femora 6-4-2-1, genua 3-3-1-0, tibiae 5-3-2-2, tarsi 8-7-6-6.
