Abstract
Life table parameters, including net reproductive rate (R0), finite rate of increase ( lambda ), doubling time for population (dt), mean generation time (T) of Eotetranychus kankitus were studied at 5 constant temperatures (15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 deg C). The intrinsic rate of natural increase (rm) of E. kankitus was compared to those of 2 associated mites on citrus, Panonychus citri and Agistemus exsertus. The highest mean number of eggs (87.96 eggs/female), with a daily oviposition rate of 2.06 eggs per female per day, was obtained at 20 deg C, whereas the highest daily oviposition rate (3.73 eggs per female per day) was observed at 35 deg C, with a total of 55 eggs per female. At 15 deg C, the lowest R0 (16.64) and the longest generation time (T=48.62 days) resulted in a lowest rm (0.058) and longest dt (11.95 days). The highest rm (0.223) and lambda (1.2493) were obtained at 35 deg C and the population was able to double in only 3.11 days. The rm values of E. kankitus at the 5 tested temperatures are lower than those of P. citri and A. exsertus
