Abstract
A study of mites on prunes showed that a predatory mite, Metaseiulus occidentalis (Nesbitt), survived selected pesticides and controlled the McDaniel spider mite, Tetranychus mcdanieli McGregor. The plum rust mite, Aculus fockeui (Nalepa and Trouessart), was present in sufficient numbers to provide a dependable alternate food supply for predatory mites.
