Abstract
The presence of the mite Oligonychus (Reckiella) grypus Baker and Pritchard, 1960 (Acari: Tetranychidae) on sugar cane (Saccharum híbrido sp.) is reported for the first time in Cuba. The distinctive characteristics of the species as well as the symptoms of the damage caused are described.
