Abstract
The genus Schizotetranychus Triig'ilrdh (Acari: Tetrany· chidae) is reported from Costa Rica and Panama. Two new species of red spider mites are described: Schizotetranychus freitezi n. sp. and Schizotetranychus pseudolycurus. n. sp~, both found in leaves of Oryza sativa L., causing yellow spots on the surface in association with white motes on the underside.
