Abstract
The authors deal with 21 species of Phytoseiidae found on cultivated, wild plants in the semi-arid tropics of north-eastern Brazil in 1978-80. Four of the species are described as new, these include Amblyseius paraibensis sp. n. from Musa sp. and rice, Typhlodromus paraevectus sp. n. from Lantana camara, and Phytoseius pernambucanus sp. n. from Solanum americanum (associated with Tetranychus evansi Baker & Pritchard), Aspidosperma pyrifolia and fig.
