Preliminary study on the genus Tetranychus Dufour in China (Acarina: Tetranychidae). Acta Entomologica Sinica, 18: 220-228.

Abstract
Of the seven species of Tetranychus found in China during the investigations reported in this paper, two, T. viticis sp.n., which was found on Vitex sp.,, T. shanghaiensis sp. n., found on Rosa chinensis, peach and Zantedeschia aethiopica, are new to science, another two, T. desertorum Banks (on Cineraria cruenta), and T. ludeni Zacher (on Datura stramonium, Artemisia stelleriana and Pelargonium hortorum), are new records for China, and the remaining three, T. urticae Koch, T. cinnabarinus (Boisd.) (telarius auct.) and T. viennensis Zacher, have been recorded in the country previously. The two new species are described from the adults of both sexes
