Survey and population density studies on mites found on cotton and corn in Abis, Abou-Hommos localities, El-Beheira Province (Egypt). Bulletin de la Société Entomologique d'Egypte, 57: 101-108.

Abstract
During surveys of mites on cotton, maize crops in two localities in El Beheira Province, Egypt, 12 phytophagous species and 8 predacious species were found on cotton at each locality, on maize, 3 phytophagous species were found in each locality, 3 predacious species in one of them and six predacious species in the other. The predacious species afforded little control of the phytophagous mites. On cotton, the phytophagous species included Eutetranychus banksi (McG.), Tetranychus urticae Koch (telarius auct.) T. cinnabarinus (Boisd.), T. multisetis McG. and Oligonychus coffeae (Nietn.). On maize, the phytophagous species were T. urticae, T. cinnabarinus and T. ludeni Zacher. Populations of Tetranychids were high during July-September when high temperatures were accompanied by high relative humidities.
