Population fluctuations of Polyphagotarsonemus latus (Banks, 1904) and Tetranychus desertorum Banks, 1900 (Acari: Tetranychidae) on Phaseolus vulgaris L. and Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp. Anais da Sociedade Entomologica do Brasil, 21: 5-14.
Abstract
The population fluctuations of Polyphagotarsonemus latus, Tetranychus desertorum were studied on Phaseolus vulgaris and Vigna unguiculata [cowpea] in the field in Pernambuco, Brazil, during 1987-88. Two leaflets/node from the top leaves were sampled for P. latus and 2 leaflets/node from the middle leaves for T. desertorum at weekly intervals. The population of P. latus peaked on 48- to 68-day-old plants and that of T. desertorum on 62-day-old plants.
