Abstract
The susceptibility of vetch (Vicia sativa), white lupin (Lupinus albus), which are commonly used as green manure, to Tetranychus ludeni was determined in artificially-infested fields in Parana, Brazil, in 1988. Plants were infested between 80 and 100 days after planting and the evaluation was carried out 140 days after planting. The highest numbers of eggs and adults were found on vetch, while white lupin had slightly more nymphs than vetch. The relation of number of eggs, nymphs and adults with leaf area showed that vetch was more infested than white lupin. It is concluded that both species are susceptible to the mite.
