Abstract
Of 2 species of mites newly recorded on sugar-cane on the island of Reunion, the eriophyid Abacarus sacchari Channabasavanna was previously known in India, Brazil and the tetranychid Oligonychus etiennei sp.n. is described from the adult male and female. The 2nd species caused yellow spotting and premature drying of the leaves and was especially heavy on greenhouse crops of sugar-cane, since it was protected from natural enemies and adverse weather conditions. Lists are compiled from the literature of 11 other species of Oligonychus and 3 other species of eriophyids recorded on sugar-cane in different parts of the world
