Abstract
The population density of spider mites, mainly Tetranychus urticae Koch, on raspberries grown in experimental plots in Poland that had received known amounts of mineral fertilisers since 1921, was investigated in 1972, 1973, 1974. There was considerable variation between seasons, within seasons and between cultivars, but little of the variance could be attributed to the nature or extent of fertiliser application, however, populations tended to be lowest in plots receiving no fertilisers and highest in those receiving the full fertiliser programme. No significant correlation was found between the nutrient contents of the raspberry leaves and spider mite abundance
