Abstract
In studies carried out in Portugal on the acarofauna of Phaseolus, 70% of the samples were found to support mite populations and 18 species of phytophagous and predacious mites were identified. Members of the Tetranychidae were predominant, especially Tetranychus cinnabarinus and T. ludeni. The most frequently found predacious mites were Phytoseiulus persimilis and Amblyseius californicus [Neoseiulus californicus].
