Abstract
Twelve species of tetranychoid mites were recorded on vegetables, two of which were new. Many new host plants of mites were recorded. Abelmoschus esculentus (Linn.) Moench, Brassica campestris Linn., Memordica charantia Linn., Mentha viridis Linn., Phaseolus mungo var. radiatus Auct., Benincasa ceriferu Savi., Dolichos !ablab Linn., Spinacea oleracea Linn., Citrullus vulgaris var. fistulosus Schrad.,, Lycopersicum esculentum Mill. harboured two mite species each, whereas, Solanum melongena Linn. and Luffa acutangula Roxb. harboured four species each. Allium cepa Linn., A. sativum Linn. and Zingiber officinalis Rose. were free of mite infestation. Two new mite species viz., Schizotetranychus malodhensis and Tenuipalpus kesari have been described
