AB  - This study is based on oribatid mite materials collected by swiping bushes in central Madagascar. Four species are identified; a new subgenus and two new species, Afreremella (Arboreremella) n. subgen., with type species Afreremella (Arboreremella) madagascarensis n. sp. (Eremellidae), and Lucoppia ankaratraensis n. sp. (Oribatulidae) are described. An identification key to known representatives of Lucoppia is provided. The initial subgeneric status of Eremella (Archeremella) is supported.
