AB  - A new subfamily of Acaridae, the Naiadacarinae, is established on the basis of a new genus. This genus, Naiadacarus, is comprised of two new species from North America: N. arboricola from the eastern deciduous forest and N. oregonensis from the West coast of the United States. Both species inhabit water-filled treeholes.
