Redescription and distribution of the spider mites Tetranychus evansi and T. marianae

Tetranychus evansi Baker and Pritchard and Tetranychus marianae McGregor are redescribed. The main differences between these two species are: the relative position of the proximal duplex setae on tarsus I of the female; shape of empodium II of the male; degree of development of the dorsal spur of the male empodia; lengths of intercoxal setae 3 and 4; and sizes of idiosoma, body setae and leg segments. A reassesment of the distribution of both species is provided.
